I have a few sk Bo9s and was wondering if anyone mounted Troyer Tunnel with Collar on this gourd? What modifications did you make? Looks like it might work.

Re: 1-1/2 schd pipe question
Ok thanks for info. Thinking I will just hang a few gourds off it then and continue to look for a heavier pole. If nothing else will at least have something up for martins in spring until I save my coin for maybe 3x3 pole for wood house

1-1/2 schd pipe question
Picked up 13 ft piece of 1-1/2 schd 40 black pipe today. The price was right, free, so couldn’t turn it down. I am building 2x3 boxes basically T-6. Out of pine. Plan was to hang the boxes with probably 4 gourds underneath My question is will this pole be able to handle the weight or would I be bett...

Moving forward toward spring 2021
Well decided the route I will take with goal to having first attempt housing up for spring. Am going to offer both gourds and hosing to see if I and get some interest. So to that means am building a T6 and from it will hang a few Troyer vertical gourds and see what happens. Have finished the basic b...

Re: T-14 Contruction Questions
Nice......are those the S&k tunnels. Actually since my first try at martins thinking I may only build the 2 - 3 room units and add gourds...save weight seeing mostly gourd setups close to me. Went to Amish area today one family had a T-18 setup

T-14 Contruction Questions
1. Looking over plans for T-14. Am thinking i might use either a troyer or S&k tunnel vs hole.. Not having either in hand was wondering about the setup for the tunnel. Would I still use the same hole layout as noted in the plans just drilling a 3 in hole vs a 2 in? 2. Has anyone done a mod to the pl...

Re: Another question on housing
Wow, knew t14 would be heavy. My t14 plan book just arrive yesterday so have been looking through it. Cedar suite is nice but it think I would mod to make the nest boxes just a little bigger. I like the idea of the slide out nest insert to make nest changes easier and faster. I do have some clear pi...

Another question on housing
Have been looking over plans for cedar suite and t-14 housing. Being as this will be first year of trying to attract martins I thought I might offer them a choice of housing. If I built either one I would modify the entry and use Troyer tunnels. I would then hang Troyer gourds under the the wood hou...

Re: First Timer planning for Spring 21
Thanks for all the input. The Troyer pole system does seem like the way to go. I even like the troyer gourds being they are one piece construction. Now I just have to convince the wife To let me spend the extra money. My plan is to have something ready to go by January .

Re: First Timer planning for Spring 21

Was thinking last night about building my own pole and lowering device Found this plan this morning https://www.pgc.pa.gov/InformationResources/Documents/plan7.pdf Think this way to go. All I need is 4x4. I know I can get 16 ft pole. Would still leave about 13 ft abo...

Re: First Timer planning for Spring 21
Thanks for info.....will look to get stronger pole. Straight line winds of 50-60 mph not unusually fronting a thunderstorm. I do have a tri pole setup for bat house that has held up well, but it is a chore to lift the pole with box on top
