If you have an iTunes account you can burn the cd to your account, download to your smartphone. You can buy a $10 blue tooth speaker and stick it in one of your compartments and play dawnsong wirelessly. Set the alarm on your smartphone to start at 4am.

I love it! Simple, well designed house. The double roof is a great idea. Is the bottom section of roof wide open and screened? Regarding the entrance, Adult PMs will have no trouble getting in and out, however babies may climb out and get stuck outside making them an easy target. Maybe you could eve...

Buddy, are you talking about the small rod that attaches in the doorway and hinges the door? If it is, that rod just slips into 2 holes on each side of the doorway. the way the walls are built keeps the rod from falling out, so no threads or nuts are needed. OK Dave thanks. This particular rod must...

Hey Anthony, will chain link fencing tubes attached to the posts work or are they too flimsy? Also, do you have photos of your setup?

Pole replacement

I recently bought a retro trio castle and I need a pole for it. Every photo I see of a castle system, the pole is bent. Seems like there's a serious problem with under sized poles vs weight. Since there are many castle owners here I was wondering if I have alternatives.

Hi Dorn. I picked up a castle just like yours in this post. I have a detached hinge wire and can't figure out how to re-attach it since I can't get my eyeballs inside the door. The wire is straight so it slides right out. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Lou. Unfortunately I had to reduce the quality to adhere to the photo upload requirements. There are two holes approx 2" in diameter and they are about 3" above the floor. I put several doors on the trap with spring latches (no separate chambers) to get easier access to the inside. I also put sma...

I built a smaller version and had great results. The bottom of the "V" needs to be close to the floor of the trap, causing the trapped birds to duck to pass under. They can't look up through the holes when they are ducking. The size of the holes are not as important as the distance between the holes...

I agree! Buildings are OK, however trees are a different story...and of course I have trees. The solid, flat walls can't hide predators.

Just goes to show you how PMs can find housing anywhere. I bet they love to hear their vocalizations bounce off those metal walls.

I love seeing these pics

I bet someone smarter than me could come up with a method using a laptop cooling fan powered by a small solar power source. Place the fan in the neck of the gourd just below the vent hood to draw out the hot air.

Send a cut of the royalties!

Mary, I'm no expert, but I think you have a perfect location. It's easy to second guess and think that you are doing something wrong, but I don't think you are. I would kill to have the open space you have! I did not notice a predator guard attached. Could there have been a snake scare or anything t...

Just caught 2 hosp this morning in separate traps. One was with bread as bait, the other with feathers from a pillow in a Havahart chipmunk trap. The little buggers think they're stealing from me.

I found an old couch pillow stuffed with more feathers than I could ever use. Or you can use strips of TP or shredded paper or (fill in garbage item here).
