Hope you have a great season Emil, and I bet you will be so excited to see your birds come back Jody after a great first year last year ,I bet you will be full this year

Hey Mick when do ur birds usually come back! I live in Indiana about 4 1/2 hrs from u & also straight across if u are looking on a map or radar! I don't think u will hurt ur birds by having a building there bc it will probably make them feel safer & they will think u live there & maybe keep hawks away since it's so close! My friend built a building like that & he has had his colony for 20 plus years & it didn't phase them a bit!! Post some pics so we can see what u got!

Hi Mick, really cool!! Yea I've had 2 males show up on march 28th & 27th the past 2 years & never stayed but last year would have bc one brought a female back but they were having trouble getting in the housing bc of no traction so I fixed that problem for this year & have natural & artificial gourds for them to choose from & I think they will be ok with ur new building!!

Martin Colony History: I only have one 16 compartment house. I only have a small backyard so I have to be happy with what I got.
No problems having several pairs for the past 5 years. Never quite have a full house.

My house will be going up in the morning. Just finish cleaning it out

Emil,

How many do you have now? We are still waiting to see our first site of a purple martin. Are you catching them and keeping them at your place?
