- I placed an aluminum 12 compartment house on my property on 4/26/08. The house is 50-60\' from nearest trees and 12\' up from the ground. It is 85\' from my house with good two-way open access north and south. I live on 2 1/2 acres of land of which most is field. There is a small pond down the street. What are the chances of getting Martins in north central Massachusetts?

- Installed our first martin house in mid-May (Heritage Farms Quad-Pod) but no martins yet. I think our location is pretty good - our home is near Candlewood Lake in a suburban/semi-rural area in NW CT. Our yard is open/grassy and martin house is positioned away from trees. We are playing dawnsong. Help - what else can we do?! Are there other martin landlords in our area (northern Fairfield county) who can give advice? If so, please email me. Many thanks!

- I live in Southeastern Massachusetts and have an ideal site for establishing a purple martin colony. I would appreciate any information and/or advice on getting started and establishing a colony.

- I have seen Purple Martins in my yard. Our home is surrounded by protected wetlands, so there is plenty of open land. I have seen the PM on tele wires, but have never seen a nest. I would appreciate any advice on constructing our first PM house. Gourds vs. Wood. Thanks!
