ENGLISH HOUSE SPARROW
(Passer domesticus )

Size: 6" in length
Description: The English house sparrow is a very common bird throughout. The male appears with a black throat, white cheeks, and a chestnut nape, while the females lack the black throat and have a dingy breast with a dull eye-stripe.
Range: Eurasia to north Africa; introduced into the Americas, South Africa, and Australia.
Habitat: This sparrow can be found in cities and farms and will nest in purple martin housing.
