Never say never………. I have seen a heavy influx of sub-adults this past weekend. I don’t know your situation whether your PM housing is in the open, what kind of set up you have. How high is it from the ground. The top of my PM setup is 18 feet to top of the pole and 15 feet to the bottom of the hous...

Julio,
I wanted to but i just said it inside my head. Last year was a great year for
taking S&S. This effort is now being realized at my site. "it's Boring" hardly
any bonus activity at my back yard. The plus side is I am putting more
time to learning how to play my Lanikai tenor ukulele.

Shari,
You could make/buy a holding cage to have food and water for the kept bird.
Place it on top or near the trap.

I have neighbor’s that likes sparrows and starlings too. According to her “they are fun to watch” My immediate neighbors were gathered at her driveway just chatting, so I went to join them and eventually all but us three were left. Both of them are “nature lovers” according to the both of them. The ...

RC, Great shooting! Great optics! As for me I required a better tool in order to do the job better. The $$$$ I spent on my Webley Raider was well worth it. I have not had a single complain from any of my neighbors (knock on wood) and I wan to keep it that way. This is my cheap way to insure from com...

I made modifications to mine but it is hard to see on this picture. The only thing that is visible is the entrance modification. I have seen sparrows (adults) get in the chamber, make a u-turn before the chamber is full down. The entrance modification is self explanatory. The idea is to make them ju...

Larry,
When I am no longer able to use the pump, I will check with my local
fire department.

I sure hope by that time my memory will still be good. According to my
wife I'm there already.

A very nice set up.

Folks, I started with a Crossman 1377C, then onto a Crossman 760 in which both of this Worked okay for very short distances (20 to 30 feet). S&S would stay just out of range for I was shooting in the open. They were more leery of me than the noise the pumping of the rifle. I thought I’d get serious ...

Olson, You may go to check upon this link. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/ftp/forms/ls-16.pdf I think this may help you regarding to “whisper quite” muzzle break. The information you need to look at is page 33, PC 46.01 (4) and on page 38, PC PC46.41 (4). According to manufacturers and what I’ve read,...

Folks, How about trying a safe and natural way to rid of mites. I found that the use of Apple Cider Vinegar for my Jack Russell Terriers free of fleas. I also pour some of this vinegar into their water bucket. I think a 50/50 Apple Cider Vinegar-water mixture sprayed inside your PM housing. I use th...

I am considering this one to be my next pellet rifle. This one can shoot #9
BBs, shotgun like or a .22 pellet. I will use this as a backup to my Raider.

Here is a video of this rifle: Gamo Viper Express

Larry, I’ve used the Gamo PBA (Performance Ballistic Alloy) in my Webley Raider, and I am convinced with its performance claim. The only thing I don’t like about it is the super sonic report of the pellet after it leaves the barrel. This report is even louder than the report of the rifle. I’ve used ...

In my case I can do some shooting and I can only do it on weekends and some on the evenings. I have to be extra careful shooting in the evening for most of my neighbors are at home and more likely to be outside. So I rely on my three traps, one a home made aluminum NBT (tipping can design) S&S trap....

I do have two pecan trees and a giant live oak tree behind them for my back stop. I prefer that my neighbors don’t see me with the pellet rifle and I don’t think they have. I shoot from in side my garage and I do tinker a lot in there so the pellet report is nothing for them to be concern with. This...

I got discourage with it and quickly went to a spring type rifle, single break and get 1, 000 fps out of it. I could not retrain myself long enough to get bette...

Nanette, As last resort I’ve used mice traps in a room where sparrows have nested. I was very leary at the beginning fear of trapping PMs, so I would only set the trap when I was able to keep watch. I noticed that PMs will not go in on a room filled with sparrow nesting material. For one thing sparr...
