Re: Any body still have PM to fledge

Randy Every year is different, last year my martins were gone with in the first few days of August this year that same house of martins was gone By the 25 of July. I built and installed another house this year which has 3 pairs that are still going to take a week to fledge, I had read a article that...

Any body still have PM to fledge

Hi
I was wondering how many still have chicks to fledge? I have three pairs left, one family will fledge any day and the other two will be at least a week.

Re: Repeating sparrow trap

Farmerharv does it take a few days for the sparrows to find the trap and get used to it before they start working on it? Because I have had mine out for three days and there is none coming close to it, they are flying around every where just not curios enough to check it out!

Re: Fledging has begun

That’s awesome it’s hard to believe that your purple martins in the southern US are starting to fledge and here in Canada I’m am watching the martins busy nest building carrying twigs and leaves in to the cavaties, but I guess I will be watching them fledge and your martins in Florida will be long g...

Re: Tree swallows

They actually are a very pretty bird and similar to a purple Martin but I live in a small town and I have 2 purple Martin houses up that are now full of pairs of martins, I don’t think it’s a good idea to put up more bird houses for fear that my neighbors are already thinking I am bird crazy. Farmer...

Tree swallows

I built a sparrow trap box similar to a bluebird nesting box with a 1 3/16 hole size I set it out and that morning I checked it and something had triggered the mechanism, I opened the door expecting a sparrow but here was this pretty purpulish white belley bird starring at me, I released it and now ...

Re: Starling ?

Farmerharv Just my 2cents worth! The starling and the Hosp are both invasive species, there is no laws in effect that protect these birds and they raise hell with all the native birds. But in this world we live in today there are different people that believe a bird is a bird and all birds have a ri...
